Western Star Truck: An Overview
Western Star Truck is a part of German Daimler AG and is a manufacturer of Class 8 commercial trucks in the United States. The company was founded in 1967 and headquartered in Fort Mill, United States. The White Trucks had started Western Star division naming it as White Western Star in 1970. By 1980 the White company became insolvent and most of its plants and nameplate were sold out. The Western Star name plate was purchased by Bow Valley Resource Services and Nova. The name then in 1990 was purchased by Terry Peabody who was a Australian businessman who made Western star truck profitable and in 2000 the name was purchased by Freightliner which is Daimler AG truck division.
