Autocar Trucks – Too much power to spare
Autocar Company specializes in manufacturing of vocational trucks, cab over designed. The company started in 1899, was manufacturing Brass Era automobiles. The company added trucks to their product lineup from 1907. Soon company released that they were far more efficient in manufacturing of trucks than cars. In 1912 Autocar decided to put the manufacturing of cars to an end. Autocar Trucks worked independently till 1953. Autocar was taken over by White Motor Company. In the 1980 during depression period, auto manufacturing companies were merging and were taken over by other big profit making companies. The White Motor Company was taken over by Volvo trucks. With this deal ultimately the Autocar became the subsidiary of Volvo trucks. in 2001 Volvo trucks lost its interest it the Autocar Trucks [...]
