AM General Trucks were produced US Army. One of their long live models was the M35. The truck was specially designed and manufactured for US Army, soon was utilized by other nations around the world.
AM General M35 falls in the category of 2 1/2 ton weight class. The truck in the US Army was also known as “deuce and a half”. The M35 was no less than a soldier, a die hard soldier. The truck possessed a carrying capacity of 10,000 pounds on the road and 5,000 pounds on off-road. The carrying capacity was what AM General recommended on papers, in practice the truck was made to haul almost double. These AM General Trucks with such a carrying capacity is considered to be a medium duty truck by the military transportation department.
